Exact-minute calculation method
Work times are converted to integer minutes before elapsed time, unpaid breaks, daily totals and workweek totals are calculated. Decimal hours are formatted only after the exact-minute result is known, reducing repeated-rounding drift.
When an entered end time is earlier than its start, the calculator treats the end as occurring the next day. Equal start and end times are not silently treated as a 24-hour shift.
Automated test coverage
Release tests cover ordinary shifts, unpaid breaks, overnight shifts, split shifts, overlapping-entry warnings, missing or equal times, weekly overtime, independent biweekly overtime, decimal conversion, estimated pay and export totals.
A successful automated test does not replace user review. Inputs, dates, workweek boundaries and applicable payroll requirements should be verified before a result is used.
Editorial standards
Educational content explains the arithmetic first, distinguishes estimates from legal determinations and links to authoritative government sources where employment rules are discussed. We do not invent reviews, ratings, professional credentials or compliance claims.
Content is reviewed by the WorkTime Hub editorial team when related calculator logic, cited sources or product limitations change. Current review date: July 24, 2026.
Corrections and accountability
Every guide identifies its calculation method and, where applicable, authoritative references. If you find an arithmetic, source, accessibility or wording problem, email support@worktimehub.com with the page URL and a non-sensitive description. We review corrections before changing calculator logic or published guidance.
WorkTime Hub publishes original tools and explanations for its users. We do not copy or automatically republish third-party articles, and we do not accept payment for changing a calculator result or editorial conclusion.
Privacy and analytics boundaries
Calculator values are processed in the browser. The analytics interface accepts only a small list of non-sensitive events and excludes entered times, names, employer details, employee numbers, pay rates, results and notes.
Optional time-card saves use browser storage on the current device. Users can remove the saved card from inside the calculator or clear the browser’s site data.
