How the time-card calculation works
Each entered time becomes an integer number of minutes. Overnight shifts add 1,440 minutes to an end time that is earlier than its start. Unpaid breaks are subtracted only after elapsed time is validated.
Weekly overtime separates regular and overtime minutes at the selected threshold. A biweekly card performs that split for Week 1 and Week 2 independently. Estimated pay uses integer cents and rounds each calculated pay component to the nearest cent.
Worked example
Five 9-hour days produce 45 hours: 40 regular and 5 overtime. At $20 per hour and 1.5× overtime, estimated gross pay is $950.
Common uses

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate hours between two times?
Enter a start and end time. WorkTime Hub converts both times to minutes, calculates the elapsed duration and then subtracts any unpaid break minutes.
How does the calculator handle lunch breaks?
Enter unpaid lunch minutes in the unpaid-break field. Paid break minutes can be recorded but remain inside worked time.
Can I enter more than one shift per day?
Yes. Add up to four shifts to a day. Each shift is calculated independently and overlapping entries produce a warning.
Can I use 24-hour or military time?
Yes. Open Options and change Time format from 12-hour to 24-hour.
Does the calculator round clock times?
No. Calculations use the exact minutes entered. Decimal values are formatted only after the exact-minute total is complete.
Does a blank day count as zero hours?
A completely blank day is ignored. It remains blank in exports rather than creating a false shift.
Can the calculator handle overnight and split shifts?
Yes. An end time earlier than its start is treated as the following day, and each day can contain up to four non-overlapping shifts.
Is a biweekly 80-hour total used for overtime?
No. When weekly overtime is selected, Week 1 and Week 2 are calculated independently at the chosen weekly threshold.
Is my time-card information uploaded?
Calculator entries are processed in your browser. Optional saved cards remain in browser storage on the current device until you delete them or clear site data.
